The to-the-toe lacing lets us cinch in a performance fit, while the wraparound rubber rand and protective toe cap armor our feet against the rock- and stick-riddled path. On the descent back to our car, the sole's Impact Brake System helps keep our feet under us down the steep and loose mountainside.
